This operation, known as “Operation Frozen River,” has led to the apprehension of more than 20 individuals, with ongoing efforts to locate additional suspects. The arrests were made following raids at various locations across Louisville, raising concerns about drug-related activities in the area. Let’s delve deeper into the details of this operation and its implications.

The Raids and Investigations: The FBI’s crackdown on drug trafficking culminated in a series of well-coordinated raids in Louisville. Locations such as the 12000 block of Dixie Highway, a residence on Northwestern Parkway in Portland, and a warehouse on Old Fern Valley Road in Okolona were among those targeted. These operations were carried out in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, reflecting a joint effort to combat drug-related crimes.

The operation has so far led to the identification and apprehension of 34 individuals across Louisville and southern Indiana. The suspects are facing charges related to the distribution of methamphetamine (meth) and fentanyl. Moreover, many of the individuals arrested also face additional charges, including those involving firearms. Notably, some of the alleged offenses date back to January 1, 2021, indicating the scope and duration of these criminal activities.

Among those arrested, six were taken into custody on the day of the operation’s announcement. The charges against them include conspiring to distribute meth and fentanyl, substances known for their highly addictive and dangerous nature.
